Prof. Dr. Ihsan Yaqoub Al-Deek
Palestinian nationality, born in 1956, holds a PhD from the University of Jordan,
Professor of Ancient Literature in the Department of Arabic Language, An-Najah National University. He is interested in the mythological approach in criticism and its application to ancient and modern poetry, and is interested in Palestinian folk literature. He has supervised more than forty theses in pre-Islamic literature in the mythological approach and folk literature in Palestinian universities, and jointly supervises doctoral theses at Ain Shams University in the Arab Republic of Egypt. He holds the position of advisor to the Al-Qasemi Academy for the Arabic Language in the Palestinian interior, Vice President of the Palestinian Critics Association, and member of the editorial board of the Encyclopedia of Palestinian Literature.
He participated in scientific conferences in several universities in Arab and Islamic countries, and in cultural and popular literature workshops. He published more than forty scientific studies. His books include: “Echoes of the Myth and the Other in Pre-Islamic Poetry,” “Representations of Discourse in Modern Palestinian Literature,” and “The Myth in Pre-Islamic Thought and Literature.”
