Dr. Lina Kanaan Jamil Malukh works as an Assistant Professor at the College of Biotechnology at the Contemporary Science University in Dubai.
Dr. Lina graduated with a bachelor’s degree in biotechnology from the College of Arts and Sciences, Department of Biotechnology and Organic Biology, at the Arab American University in the year 2004, with the highest grade in her college. Lina was one of the most active students as she participated in various activities at the university.
She obtained a master's degree in molecular biomedical technology from Ghent University in Belgium, graduating with honors in 2005. In the same year, she received a scholarship from Ghent University to pursue her doctoral studies. In 2010 she graduated as a Doctor of Applied Bioscience and Biotechnology. Her thesis was about the functional characterization of the genes that control the production of anti-cancer compounds in the hops plant.
During her doctoral studies, she cooperated with various universities in America and the Czech Republic. Not only that, but she traveled extensively to both countries to improve her doctoral experiences.
Dr. Lina has published a number of articles in various international journals and has attended many international conferences.
In the period between 2010-2014, she completed her post-doctoral research at the INRA Institute in France. Genes that target different species were the subject of her research.
Lina has been working as an assistant professor at the College of Biotechnology at the University of Contemporary Sciences in Dubai, from 2014 until today.
