Information
Jamal Ghaythan was born in 1967 in the village of Qabiya near Ramallah. He currently serves as an assistant professor in the Department of Arabic Language and Literature at the Faculty of Arts at the University of Jerusalem.
He has published several research papers in the field of Arabic literature and literary criticism. Jamal has supervised numerous master's theses and served as an external examiner for many more at the University of Jerusalem and other universities in the region.
Educational Background:
High School Diploma (Literary Stream) from Nalin Secondary School in 1985 with an excellent grade.
Bachelor's degree in Arabic Language and Literature from the University of Jordan in 1989 with distinction.
Master's degree in Arabic Language and Literature from the University of Jordan in 1993 with distinction.
Ph.D. in Arabic Language and Literature from the University of Jordan in 2007 with distinction.
Thesis Titles:
Master's thesis: "The Image of Poverty in Pre-Islamic Poetry," supervised by Professor Nasrat Abdul Rahman.
Ph.D. thesis: "The Influence of Pre-Islamic Poetry on Andalusian Literature from the Fourth Hijri Century to the Mid-Sixth Century," supervised by Professor Nasser al-Din al-Assad.
Work Experience:
Teacher in private and public schools in Jordan and Ramallah, as well as a language editor from 1993 to 2000.
Lecturer at the University of Jordan, Amman, from 2001 to 2006.
Assistant Professor at the University of Hebron, Hebron, since 2008.
Courses and Workshops:
Jamal Ghaythan has participated in various courses and workshops, including those related to computer usage, teaching methods, guidance counseling, research planning, e-learning, and virtual classrooms. He has also conducted workshops on e-learning for Arabic language skills teachers at the University of Jerusalem.
