A researcher from Gaza wins an international award in the field of water desalination and renewable energy
The Palestinian researcher specializing in renewable energy and water desalination, Dr. Mahmoud Ibrahim Shatat, who resides in Britain from Gaza, won the Distinguished Researcher Award, during an honoring festival held in the Emirate of Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum handed Dr. Shatat the award during a ceremony attended by His Highness Sheikh, Deputy Consul General of the State of Palestine in Dubai, Mr. Mohammed Asaad, and a group of attendees and ambassadors of the participating countries and the invitees. Dr. Statt received this award in recognition of his outstanding achievements in research and innovation in technologies that provide solutions to the global water crisis. Where he led the development of a water program in Palestine, especially the project of a desalination plant in Rafah, which is funded by the Humanitarian Appeal Foundation, in addition to his work as a lecturer in the joint doctoral program in water technology between Al-Azhar University and the Islamic University of Gaza.
It is noteworthy that Dr. Shatat has supervised many master's theses in the field of water and renewable energy and has many researches published internationally in this field.
