Adi Nusser is a professor and researcher in astrophysics, specializing in cosmology and physical cosmology. Lecturer in the Department of Astrophysics at the Technion University in Haifa. His specialties and scientific interests include the origin, genesis, history and evolution of the universe, the movement of galaxies, cosmic radiation, the formation of galaxies and dark energy. He works on developing methods for measuring dark matter and dark energy through the study of quasars.

 

He grew up in the village of Yafa, Nazareth, in the Galilee. He is Palestinian, belongs to the Arabs of the 48th, and lives in the city of Acre. He was introduced to cosmology during his studies at the Hebrew University in the field of astrophysics, and in 1992 he obtained a doctorate in the field of research “Dynamics of Gravitational Systems” at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, then moved to a post-doctoral study at the Institute of Astrophysics at Berkeley University in California , and at the Max Planck Institute for Astronomy in Germany, and at the University of Cambridge (United Kingdom), and then joined the Physics Department at the Technion in Haifa. He is a recipient of the Gutworth Prize and Harry Goldman Prize, and has served as a visiting lecturer at the University of Cambridge (UK), the Institute for Advanced Study at Princeton University, the Japan National Observatory and Oxford University (UK).
