Grace Saad Khoury (June 27, 1952 - February 2, 2016), Palestinian researcher and lecturer, born in the village of Fasuta, founder and former director of the Al-Liqa Center for Studies and Dialogue.
his life
Dr. Grace Saad Khoury was born in the village of Fasuta in the upper Galilee, and completed his primary education at the village school, and his secondary education at St. Joseph Seminary in Nazareth.
He then traveled to Italy and joined one of the ecclesiastical universities of Rome, from which he obtained a bachelor's degree in philosophy and theology. After that, he joined the Pontifical Oriental Institute in Rome and obtained a master's degree from it, and obtained a doctorate in Islamic philosophy for his thesis on Yahya bin Adi, the well-known Christian philosopher. After receiving his Ph.D., he taught Arabic literature and philosophy at the University of Naples, Italy.

He returned to his homeland, Palestine, in 1980 and worked as director of the "Christianity in the Holy Land" program at the Tantour Institute for Ecumenical Studies in Jerusalem and as deputy director general.
He joined the teaching staff at Bethlehem University, where he met a number of Muslim and Christian professors, and together they established the “Al-Liqa’ Center for Religious and Heritage Studies in the Holy Land” in 1983, and he was appointed director of the center and continued to run it until his death in 2016.
He was the editor-in-chief of the quarterly “Al-Liqa” magazine, issued by the Center, which has developed from year to year and has become one of the most prestigious intellectual journals, and its scientific and academic research has turned into a reference and source for many academics.
He held intellectual, heritage and theological conferences over the years, with two conferences every year. The first deals with Christian theology and the second deals with Islamic-Christian dialogue, in which Muslim and Christian clergymen, nuns, monks, and lay people participate and attend, including academics, intellectuals, educators and others.
He ran for the Knesset in the second place on the Progressive List for Peace in 1992, but the list did not pass the electoral threshold.
He headed the local council in his village of Fassuta from 1996-2001.

his death
Dr. Grace Saad Khoury died suddenly while delivering the message in the Vatican Square before the Pope’s meeting with a Christian-Muslim delegation from Palestine. He suffered a stroke and died instantly. He was also transferred to a hospital near the Vatican.
