A Palestinian critic, researcher and an Arabic language professor, who was born in Baqa al-Gharbiyye 1949. Ghanayem finished his secondary education in 1967, he then joined Dar al-Mu'almen in Haifa; graduated as a teacher. After graduation, he worked as an Arabic language and music teacher, received his BA in Arabic language and Education from Tel-Aviv University; MA and PhD degrees from the same university in (1982 and 1990), chairman of the Islamic and Arabic Studies Dept. of Tel Aviv University (2003-2006); lecturer at Beitberl College (1988-2004); chairman of the Arabic language Academy in Haifa since 2008.
