Dr. Louay Malhis completed his high school education in Silat Al-Harithiya, Jenin. He then went on to pursue his studies from Bachelor’s degree to PhD in Computer Engineering at the University of Arizona, USA. After receiving his PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Arizona in 1996, he joined An-Najah National University as an Assistant Professor of Computer Science.
While at An-Najah National University, he co-founded the Computer Engineering Department and the College of Information Technology. He also served as the Head of the Computer Science Department for 3 years. He also headed the Computer Engineering Department for 11 years.
He was also the Director of the Information Technology Unit for 3 years. Dr. Malhis has taught many courses (Hardware and Software) in the field of Computer Science and Computer Engineering. He has also directly supervised or been an examiner for many Master’s theses at An-Najah National University. He has also been invited as an external examiner for PhD theses at the University of Barcelona.
He has many publications in the fields of Computer Engineering and Performance Modeling and Evaluation. Dr. Malhis is a member of the Board of the Accreditation and Quality Assurance Institution in Palestinian Universities. He also served as Chairman or Member of several committees at An-Najah National University related to academic or logistical issues that are particularly relevant to the Computer Engineering Department, the Faculty of Engineering, or the University at large.
