Dr. Abdullah Aweis holds a Ph.D. (Summa cum Laude with Honors) in Urban and Regional Planning from the Technical University of Berlin, Germany, which he earned in 1998. He has been serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Geography and Urban Studies at Al-Quds University since 2008. Dr. Aweis actively participates in various committees within the faculties of Arts, Bard, and Earth and Environmental Sciences.
He teaches both undergraduate and master's level courses and supervises master's theses. He is also involved in research activities, particularly in the field of alternative energy, desalination of seawater, and environmental sciences, with a focus on Jerusalem. Dr. Aweis has published numerous geostrategic studies on Jerusalem and geormorphological research related to urban planning and civilizational environments in peer-reviewed scientific journals. Additionally, he is known for discovering the first evidence of herbivorous dinosaurs in Palestine.
