Dr. Maysoon Ibrahim is the founder and president of the Palestinian Information Technology Syndicate and a member of the Board of Trustees of the Arab American University in Palestine. She is an ICT4D expert with experience working in government, international institutions, academia and the private sector. Dr. Ibrahim is a member of the Board of Directors of the Higher Council for Creativity and Excellence in Palestine. She chairs the Council’s Experimental Development and Incubation Committee and the Innovation Supporters Network. She previously chaired the Fourth National Forum on the Fourth Industrial Revolution in 2019. She is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Euro-Mediterranean University in Slovenia and worked as a consultant. United Nations ESCWA organization in the field of smart sustainable cities and smart digital solutions for urban resilience in Arab countries. Dr. Ibrahim is a member of many national and international committees and councils, including, but not limited to, the Technical Committee of the ESCWA Technology Center, the Coordinating Committee for Industrial Research Centers in the Arab Countries, the National Committee for Implementing the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals set forth by the United Nations, and the Steering Committee. For the work of the National Panel on Artificial Intelligence, and the Hult Prize Foundation Board.
Dr. Ibrahim holds a PhD in Technology for Development specializing in Smart Sustainable Cities, a dynamic specialty that lies at the heart of achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. She is a researcher and has many research publications, including scientific papers, articles, and books. She is a judge in several national and international competitions on creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship. She is a reviewer and committee member of many prestigious international conferences and research journals. Dr. Ibrahim has presented many academic seminars, seminars and lectures in person at many regional and international universities. These universities include the University of California Berkeley in the United States of America. Rice University in the United States of America, Portsmith University in the United Kingdom, New York University (Abu Dhabi Campus) in the United Arab Emirates, Beirut Arab University in Lebanon and other universities. I got d. Ibrahim has received various awards for her outstanding contributions to the research and development community, including the empowerment of women and girls and gender equality.
