Abd al-Razzaq Muhammad Mustafa Habayeb ( October 10, 1932 ) is an American-Palestinian scientist and professor of electronic engineering . He was born in the Palestinian city of Tulkarm . He has patents and won several awards. He worked for thirty consecutive years as Director of Guidance and Control at the Naval Aviation Systems Command [English] in US Navy .

His upbringing and educational attainment

Abdul Razzaq Muhammad Mustafa Habayeb was born in the city of Tulkarm , Palestine, on October 10 , 1932. He completed his primary, preparatory, and secondary education in the schools of his city, Tulkarm , and continued his education after that at the city’s Khadoori Institute (later a university), where he graduated in 1953 with a “Diploma in Agriculture and Education.”
He moved to the United States of America in 1953 , and in 1956 he obtained a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Kansas State University , then in 1959 he obtained a master's degree in electrical engineering from the University of Kansas , and then obtained a doctorate in electrical engineering in 1963 from the University of Kansas .

Working life

He worked in 1956 and 1957 as a communications network design engineer at Collins Radio in Kansas City, Missouri , and from 1959 to 1963 he worked as a lecturer and teacher of electrical engineering at the University of Kansas in Lawrence , Kansas .

In 1960, he worked as a senior electronic design engineer at Honeywell , which is one of the largest American companies in the field of complex electronic technologies such as aviation and aerospace technologies. In 1962, he worked as a senior analysis engineer at Allis Chalmers Manufacturing and Equipment Company.

From 1963 to 1966 , he worked as a senior scientist at the laboratories of the International Telephone and Telegraph Company (ITT) in Fort Wayne , Indiana , and from 1964 to 1966 he worked as an assistant professor at Purdue University .

From 1966 to 1968, he was the chief scientist at the Aviation Radio Company in Annapolis , Maryland , and from 1968 to 1999 he held the position of Director of Direction and Control at the Naval Aviation Systems Command of the US Navy , which is one of the Military scientific positions are extremely sensitive.
In 1981 and since 1989, he worked as an assistant professor at George Washington University in Washington , D.C. In 1981 and 1982, he was head of the Department of Electrical Engineering at Yarmouk University of Jordan.

From 1984 to 1986 , he served as Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Yarmouk University of Jordan. In 1993 and 1994, he also worked as a professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Virginia Tech University . He is a member of the International Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and the Scientific Research Honor Society (Sigma Xi). .

He has many scientific research and articles published in specialized scientific journals, and in 1987 he published the book “Systems Effectiveness” .

In October 2019, Habayeb visited his country , Palestine . In his city of Tulkarm, Palestine Technical University honored him as one of its veteran graduates in appreciation of his contributions. The university also organized a symposium in his honor entitled “A Success Story.” 
In the city of Ramallah, the Mahmoud Darwish Museum hosted him in a special ceremony that took place during the launch of a book about his biography entitled “Abdul Razzaq Habayeb: A Biography of a Life and the Fulfillment of a Dream,” written by “Najwa Nazim Abdel Hadi.” The official Palestinian television broadcast the ceremony live. 

Personal life

On July 24, 1972 , Habayeb married Randa Abu Ghazaleh, with whom he had four children: Tariq, Donia, Samah, and Jumana.
