A lecturer at Khadouri University wins a gold medal from the Malaysian University of Putra.
Prof. Arafat Shabaneh, a lecturer in the Department of Communication Engineering and Technology, Faculty of Engineering, Palestine Technical University - Khadoori, won the gold medal for new scientific innovations and inventions in the scientific competition organized by the Malaysian University of Putra. He won the award for his innovative scientific project on developing highly sensitive ammonia sensors using tapered optical fiber sensor coated with zinc oxide nanostructures, which is used in protection, security, and safety technologies in various fields.
Dr. Shabaneh dedicated this achievement and win to Palestine Technical University - Khadoori, stressing that he will continue to achieve achievements in the field of nanotechnology as part of his postgraduate studies for a doctorate degree. It is worth noting that the achievement of sensitive sensors using optical fibers has been registered as a patent for Dr. Shabaneh.
