Information
Samir Kassir was a Lebanese journalist and academic of Palestinian origin. He was a professor of political science at Saint Joseph University and studied at the Sorbonne University. He earned his PhD in Modern History from the same university and later became a lecturer in the Department of Political Science at Saint Joseph University in Beirut.
He wrote for several daily and weekly newspapers and quarterly publications, including An-Nahar, Al-Hayat, the French monthly Le Monde diplomatique, and the French-language Lebanese newspaper L'Orient-Le Jour.
He was married to the Lebanese media figure Giselle Khoury, a presenter on Al Arabiya, and had two daughters from a previous marriage.
