Information

Sami Metwassi is a Palestinian actor, theater director, and writer from the city of Bethlehem. He is an internationally recognized artist in acting, directing, training, and music, and has contributed to the establishment of two theater groups in Palestine.

He received a UNESCO grant that allowed him to travel and work in India in 2000. In 2004, he became a member of the Actors’ Union in New York, where he worked as an actor and director with several theater organizations and produced two plays he had written himself.

In the United Kingdom, Metwassi was awarded an artistic residency at the “Red Ladder Theatre” and became a member of the PTM Theatre in London, where he co-wrote and directed “Midnight Sun.”

His play “Key and Life” won the Best Work Award at the Philadelphia Festival in Jordan, and his play “Born in Bethlehem,” which he wrote and directed, was performed in Italy, the United Kingdom, and Egypt.

As an actor, Sami Metwassi has appeared in numerous films and television series, including leading roles in “An Oversized Coat” and “Love, Theft, and Other Entanglements,” the latter of which is currently being screened in cinemas across France.
