Information
A Palestinian actor originally from the Palestinian village of Daburiya, he started his cinematic career at Misr International Films with the great director Youssef Chahine and his partners as an assistant producer.
He also worked with Rashid Bou Diaf in his film "Outlaws", and also with director Henry Selim and Brown Dumont. The film "Elvis from Nazareth" tells the story of Hamoudi, a boy who begs in the streets of Nazareth.
A friendship develops between him and Khalil, an old man who imagines himself to be the singer Elvis Presley. He lies to the boy and makes him believe that the king gave him his oud. This prompts the boy to steal the oud and try to sell it with the help of one of his friends. However, as events develop, Hamoudi realizes that the oud is worthless and that Khalil is just a dreamer, so he decides to return the oud to him after being disappointed.
Hamoudi then understands the legend of Elvis Presley. He participated in the first short film titled “Elvis from Nazareth” by the same director Rani Masalha, which was shown in many international festivals. Rani, who lives in France, also mentions that Maysam Masry had previously participated in several international and local films, including the film “Plainclothes,” an American production, where he played one of the main roles in the film. He also participated in the film WWZ with the international actor Brad Pitt, and in other films in small roles.
