Wafaa Al-Adini is a Palestinian journalist from the Gaza Strip. She has been active in the field of foreign journalism for more than 15 years. During this time, she contributed to conveying the suffering of the Palestinian people in the English language. She was assassinated by the Zionist occupation at dawn on Monday, September 30, 2024.
Her career
Al-Adini worked as the Director of the Foreign Media Unit at Thuraya Media Foundation, and has been active in the field of foreign journalism for more than 15 years. During this time, she contributed to conveying the suffering of the Palestinian people in the English language, which she is proficient in, by writing articles, managing discussions, and organizing conferences, in addition to participating in photo exhibitions and short films in English.
During the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip , Al-Adini contributed by writing hundreds of reports documenting and exposing the crimes of the Israeli occupation against civilians. It is credited to Al-Adini that she was a reference and a mother to dozens of emerging English-speaking journalists, and she took care of them by organizing meetings and workshops to develop their capabilities and skills. With Al-Adini’s martyrdom, the number of martyred journalists has risen to 175, since the beginning of the war of genocide on the Gaza Strip.
Her martyrdom
On the night of Sunday, September 29 , 2024, the occupation army killed journalist Wafaa Al-Adini, her husband, and two of her children, by bombing the Al-Adini family home in Deir al-Balah in the central Gaza Strip at dawn, bringing the number of journalists killed since October 7 to 174 journalists, both male and female.
