Life

He was born in Deir al-Balah camp where he received his primary and basic education, and enrolled in secondary school at the Al-Azhar Institute. He participated in the Palestinian Intifada (1988-1993) and was arrested at the beginning of the school year on charges of throwing a Molotov cocktail and imprisoned in Saraya Central Prison for three years. He continued political activity after his release and co-founded Fatah hawks groups in the central Gaza Strip, which was chased by the occupation authorities. In 1992, he managed to flee to Egypt, and from there to Algeria and Tunisia. He was arrested on the Sinai border when he tried to infiltrate back into the Gaza Strip and was sentenced to four life sentences. He was released in 1995 as part of the Oslo Accords and then joined the PA's Military Intelligence until 1998 and later joined the Preventive Security in Gaza. He was active in the ranks of the Al-Aqsa Brigades and sometimes appeared as a media spokesman for Abu Ahmed. He was one of the founders of the Popular Resistance Committees. He assumed the position of Deputy Secretary-General of the Nasser Salah al-Din Brigades and was involved in the planning and preparation of armed resistance operations in the Gaza Strip. In 2006 he became the military adviser to the Minister of Interior in the Palestinian government emanating from the 2006 elections.

He married and had five children.

On 23 October 2007, he was martyred by Israeli rockets targeting his car on the Wadi Gaza Bridge near the Nuseirat camp.
