Hanan Naim Amin Jarrar (born 14 February 1975 in Jenin is a Palestinian diplomat who has served as Ambassador of the Embassy of the State of Palestine to South Africa since 28 January 2020.

Educational attainment

From Birzeit University, she received a bachelor's degree in English Language and Literature, a diploma in translation, and later a master's degree in international relations.

Working life

Jarrar began her career in 1997 when she worked with the PLO's Legal and International Relations Department, then moved to the Ministry of Women's Affairs in 2003. She joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2009 and received the file of international cooperation and then the file of the Americas and Caribbean and was the assistant minister for their affairs.

 

On January 28, 2020, Jarrar handed over her credentials as Ambassador of the State of Palestine to South Africa.  On 29 November 2020, she handed over her credentials to the President of the Republic of Namibia as a non-resident ambassador.

 

On 30 September 2021, she presented her credentials to King Leste III as Non-Resident Ambassador of the State of Palestine to the Kingdom of Lesotho. She is the first Palestinian representative to the Kingdom.
