Jamil Hassan Muhammad Shehadeh (May 10, 1947 - January 31, 2017), his nom de guerre Abu Khaled, is a prominent Palestinian politician, born in the Palestinian city of Tulkarm. He is a member of the Palestinian National Council, a member of the Palestinian Central Council, and a member of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization.

Jamil Shehadeh was born in the city of Tulkarm in the West Bank on May 10, 1947. He received his education in the schools of his city of Tulkarm, where he studied primary, preparatory and secondary schools at the prestigious Al-Fadhelia School in the city, then joined the university studies at Ain Shams University, where he graduated from the Faculty of Administration there.

Entering political life
He joined the national work since he was a student at the university, and worked in the ranks of the Arab Liberation Front and the Baath Party since 1969 in Kuwait, where he was a member of the front and party leadership. Later he was expelled from Kuwait for political reasons in 1980, so he was forced to move to Lebanon as a member of the Central Committee of the Arab Liberation Front, and remained there until 1982 until the exit of the Palestinian resistance. He was at the head of the first group of fighters to leave Lebanese territory, so he headed to Iraq and then to Tunisia .

Jamil Shehadeh died on January 31, 2017, of a heart attack, and was buried in his hometown of Tulkarm with an official, military and popular funeral, in the presence of a large number of Palestinian leaders, led by the Secretary of the Liberation Organization, Saeb Erekat.

He was mourned by the President of the State of Palestine, Mahmoud Abbas, the Palestine Liberation Organization, the Palestinian National Council, the Palestinian government, Fatah movement, the Palestinian National Initiative Movement, the Palestinian Liberation Front, the Palestinian Democratic Union, the Palestinian Popular Struggle Front, and others.
