Husni Muhammad Ahmad Abdul Wahid (born January 1, 1960 in Aqabat Jabr camp ) is a Palestinian journalist , politician and diplomat .

Early Life and Education

Husni Abdel Wahed was born on January 1, 1960, in the Aqabat Jabr refugee camp near Jericho in the eastern West Bank, to a Palestinian family displaced by the Nakba from the village of Al-Tira near the city of Lod . After the events of the 1967 Six-Day War, his family migrated to another camp in Jordan , where he completed his schooling. He then went to Bulgaria , where he obtained a diploma in social sciences , and later to Cuba , where he earned bachelor's and master's degrees in journalism from the University of Havana .

working life

Abdul Wahid worked as a journalist for Balsam magazine , and also served as coordinator of Arabic culture for a few years in Santiago , then as an advisor to the Department of Education in the Palestine Liberation Organization .

His political career began in the Europe Department of the General Administration for Palestinian Diaspora Affairs within the Palestinian Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation, then he assumed the presidency of the Latin America Department . Later, he was an assistant to the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, then Director General of the Arab World at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Minister-Counselor at the embassies of the State of Palestine in Venezuela and Mexico , and Director General of Administrative and Financial Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

In February 2015, he was sworn in as Ambassador of the State of Palestine to Argentina in Buenos Aires , and continued until 2021.

On May 19, 2022, he presented his credentials as head of the Palestinian diplomatic mission to Spain to King Felipe VI of Spain.

Following Spain's recognition of the State of Palestine in May 2024, Abdul Wahid returned a copy of his credentials as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Palestine to the Director General of Protocol at the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Adrián Martín Coothe, on August 29, 2024.
