Zahdi Qasim Abdul Majeed Al-Qudra ( Abu Al-Qasim ; 1947 in Khan Yunis - March 8, 2015  in Cairo ) was a Palestinian diplomat who served as the Palestinian ambassador to Egypt and as governor of Rafah Governorate . 

His life

Al-Qudra was born in Khan Yunis , south of the Gaza Strip , and received his school education there. He obtained his high school diploma with distinction in 1965.

He traveled to Egypt and joined the Faculty of Medicine at Assiut University . He left his studies after three years in 1968, to join the ranks of the Fatah movement , and branched out to work as a commissioner in the media office in Cairo.

In 1970, he was elected President of the Palestine Students Union , Cairo Branch , and appointed Secretary of the Arab Republic of Egypt Region. The late President Yasser Arafat appointed him as Alternate Ambassador of Palestine to Cairo in 1980.

On November 5, 1994, Zahdi Al-Qudra was appointed Ambassador of the Palestine Liberation Organization and the State of Palestine, representing the Palestinian National Authority to Egypt. 

On August 1, 1996, he was appointed governor of the Palestinian Ministry of Interior. 

On February 20, 2006, he was appointed governor of Rafah Governorate and continued in the position until 2014.
