Fouad Mahmoud Yassin Salaymeh (Abu Sakhr; born in 1932 in the village of Al-Shajara , Tiberias District – died on December 8, 2011 in Ankara ) was a Palestinian refugee media figure , diplomat , and member of the Fatah movement .
Practical life
In 1968, the Palestinian leadership commissioned him to establish and create the Voice of Palestine radio station in Cairo to be the mouthpiece of the Palestine Liberation Organization , and he continued there until 1974.
In 1976, he was appointed director of the PLO office in Poland and later in Spain .
In 1990, he was appointed as the representative of the Palestine Liberation Organization to Turkey , and on March 17, 1996, his appointment was renewed as the representative of the Palestinian National Authority to the Republic of Turkey, and he continued in the position until 2005.
Death
Fouad Yassin died in the Turkish capital Ankara on December 8, 2011, and was buried on December 13, 2011 in Ankara.
Medals
On December 20, 2011, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas awarded his family the Palestinian Order of Merit and Distinction .
