Zafer Muhammad Hassan Melhem ( January 1, 1965 - ) is a Palestinian electrical engineer , who has held the position of Minister of the Palestinian Energy and Natural Resources Authority since January 10 , 2017.  He is the son of the Palestinian politician Muhammad Melhem . 

His academic achievement 

In 1992, Zafer Malham obtained a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from California State University, Sacramento,  . 

His professional life 

In 1993, Zafer Melhem worked as an electrical engineer in Dubai Municipality . Since 1996, he has worked in various operational positions in the Palestinian Energy and Natural Resources Authority . He also held the position of Deputy Chairman of the Palestinian Energy and Natural Resources Authority , and CEO of the Palestinian Electricity Regulatory Council . 

On January 10, 2017, he assumed the position of Acting Chairman of the Palestinian Energy and Natural Resources Authority, succeeding its Chairman Omar Kattana .  On June 18, 2018 , Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas appointed him as Chairman of the Palestinian Energy and Natural Resources Authority with the rank of Minister.
