Akram Ismail Hassan Al-Khatib (born December 17 , 1972 ) is a Palestinian jurist and lawyer . He was appointed as Director of Public Prosecutorship in the State of Palestine on January 21, 2019, succeeding Ahmed Barak after the Palestinian Supreme Court of Justice decided to halt his appointment, and on March 12, 2019. He was officially appointed to the position. Al-Khatib previously served as Assistant Attorney General and was seconded to work for the Palestinian Anti-Corruption Commission .

As Attorney General of the State of Palestine, on July 31, 2019, he became a member of the Supreme Coordination Council for the Justice Sector , and on August 16, 2023, he continued to serve as a member of the Council after it was amended.

His life

Al-Khatib earned a bachelor’s degree in law from the Faculty of Law at Amman Al-Ahliyya University in Jordan in 1999.
