Othman Hussein Ali Ghashash (Abu Luay; born on January 24 , 1938 in Qalqilya - died on December 23 , 2008 in Nablus ) is a Palestinian politician and parliamentarian . He was a member of the first Palestinian Legislative Council between 1996 and 2006, after he ran in the 1996 Palestinian general elections as an independent . In the Qalqilya Governorate district, he obtained 5,420 votes.
