Hussein Salim Al-Husseini . 

Mayor of Jerusalem from 1910 to 1917. He is the son of Salim al-Husseini, who was in turn mayor of Jerusalem in the late nineteenth century . 

So that its sanctities would not be subjected to destruction, and Al-Husseini died in 1918, weeks after the British entered Jerusalem, and his brother Musa Kazem Al-Husseini assumed the presidency of the Jerusalem municipality after him .
