“Mohammed Fahd” Sabri Abdel Rahman Al-Shalaldeh (born on February 3, 1955 in Hebron Governorate) is a Palestinian jurist and academic. Since April 2019, he has held the position of Minister of Justice within the government of Muhammad Shtayyeh.
Educational attainment
Al-Shalaldeh obtained a high school diploma from Hebron schools in 1974. He obtained a master’s degree in law from the Faculty of International Law at Azerbaijan State University in the Azerbaijani capital, Baku, in 1983. He also obtained a doctorate in international law from the same university in 1987.
practical life
Since 1988, after his graduation, Al-Shalalda worked as a regular lawyer, and continued until 2019.
He held the position of Dean of Al-Rahma College for Girls in Hebron from 1990 to 1995, where he was a lecturer and head of the Social Sciences Department.
He worked as an academic vice dean of the Palestine Technical College for Girls in Ramallah in the period 1995-1996.
He worked as a lecturer at several universities: Al-Quds University, Palestine Polytechnic University, Al-Quds Open University and Al-Istiqlal University. He became the dean of the Faculty of Law at Al-Quds University in the period 2005-2011, and the dean of the Faculty of Law and Police Sciences at Al-Istiqlal University in the period 2011-2013.
He served as Director of the Palestinian Institute for International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights from 2004-2019.
He was appointed Minister of Justice in the government of Muhammad Shtayyeh in April 2019 and he is still serving.
