Fadi Arafat Salim Al-Hidmi (born November 4, 1977 in Jerusalem ) is a Palestinian economist . From April 2019 to March 2024, he served as Minister of Jerusalem Affairs in the government of Mohammad Shtayyeh . He also previously served as Director General of the Jerusalem Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture .
His personal life
Al-Haddami holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the American University in Cairo , and a Master of Science degree in Development Project Management and Implementation from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology in the United Kingdom .
His father, Arafat Al-Hidmi, was a physician and head of the administrative board at the Al-Makassed Islamic Charitable Society Hospital in Jerusalem . Al-Hidmi is married and has three children.
Practical life
He held the position of Director General of the Jerusalem Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He also served as a member of many social and volunteer committees in Jerusalem, where he is considered an active member of the Supreme Islamic Council, the Al-Hilal Club Council, the Family Protection Organization and Association, the Palestinian Businesswomen Association Asala, and the Education for Employment Foundation.
He worked as a grants manager and capacity development specialist for USAID- funded programs implemented by Catholic Medical Relief Services , and as a program officer for the World Bank’s Palestinian NGO project as part of the Social Welfare Society team. He worked as a civil society development program analyst with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) for four years.
On April 13, 2019, Al-Hidmi was sworn in before Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas as Minister of Jerusalem Affairs in Mohammad Shtayyeh’s government, which lasted until March 31, 2024.
