Ismail Ragheb Al-Khalidi (born November 13, 1916 - died September 2, 1968) was a senior political affairs official in the United Nations Department of Political Affairs .

Al-Khalidi was born in Jerusalem , then still part of Ottoman Syria , on November 13, 1916.  He is the brother of Hussein Al-Khalidi the father of Rashid Al-Khalidi and the grandfather of the American playwright Ismail Al-Khalidi .

Al-Khalidi studied at St. George's School and the Arab College in Jerusalem (1927-1936).  In 1939, he obtained a bachelor’s degree in political science from the American University of Beirut . He completed his studies in the United States and obtained a master's degree from the University of Michigan in 1940, and a doctorate from Columbia University in 1955.

His doctoral thesis at Columbia University became a book entitled Constitutional Development in Libya, published in 1956 with an introduction by Adrian Belt. Charles Issawi and J.C. Horowitz are also credited with contributing to the writing of the book. This was the first study conducted in English on the development of the Constitution of Libya at the time of its publication (1951). 

Al-Khalidi also served as assistant editor of the Middle East Bureau of the United States Office of War Information from 1942 to 1944, and as secretary of the Institute of Arab-American Affairs from 1945 to 1948.  He was a United Nations employee for 19 years and originally joined as a radio broadcaster. He died on September 2, 1968, at the age of 51, in Beirut, Lebanon .
