Ali Nasser Muhammad Yassin (born in 1936 in Jaffa - assassinated on June 15, 1978 in Kuwait City ) was a politician , diplomat , and Palestinian refugee . He was director of the Palestine Liberation Organization office in Kuwait . [1]
Working life [ edit ]
Ali Yassin was born in the city of Jaffa in 1936 to a Palestinian family that was displaced by Zionist gangs after the Nakba War in 1948. Ali Yassin received his primary and preparatory education in the city of Jaffa , and his secondary education in the city of Tulkarm . He obtained a bachelor's degree in law in 1960 from Cairo University . [1]
He moved to work in the State of Kuwait in 1961, and worked there as director of the external education department at Kuwait State Radio until 1968. He devoted himself to the Fatah movement in 1968, where he worked in the mobilization and organization office in Amman , and later in Damascus .
He took over the PLO office in Kuwait, succeeding Khairy Abu al-Jubain in 1969. [1]
After the third conference of the Fatah movement was held in Damascus in 1971, Ali Yassin became a member of the Revolutionary Council of the Fatah movement . [2]
His assassination [ edit ]
Yassin was killed on the morning of Thursday, June 15, 1978, in his home in Kuwait City. His killing was attributed to a group affiliated with Sabri al-Banna “Abu Nidal.” [3]
He was buried in Sulaibikhat Cemetery in Kuwait.
