Abdullah Salim Yusef Abu Zaid, known as Abdullah Kamil (Abu Jihad; born January 20, 1967 in Qabatiya), is a Palestinian politician and soldier. He has been the governor of Salfit since September 16, 2019.
Education and educational attainment
Abdullah Salim Yousef Abu Zaid was born in the town of Qabatiya, south of Jenin, and received his education in the town's schools until he was arrested by the Israeli occupation forces when he was fifteen years old. After his release from captivity, he completed his university studies until he obtained a doctorate degree in constitutional law.
positions
Abdullah Kamil held several positions, including the director of the Palestinian General Intelligence Directorate in the governorates of Salfit, Nablus, and Tulkarem, until Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas assigned him in November 2013 to assume the position of governor of Qalqilya Governorate. Then, in a short period of time, he was assigned the duties of governor of Tulkarem Governorate, but he was relieved of them at the end. In 2014, at the suggestion of the Prime Minister of the State of Palestine, Rami Hamdallah, he was transferred and appointed as a governor in the Palestinian Presidency.
On December 4, 2016, Kamil won the Palestinian Revolutionary Council elections, which were held during the Seventh Fatah Conference, and became a member of it.
On September 16, 2019, Abdullah Kamil assumed his duties as Governor of Salfit Governorate, succeeding Major General Ibrahim Al-Balawi.
