Marwan Rasim Kamal Ismail (June 27, 1933) was a Palestinian-Jordanian politician and academic from the Palestinian city of Tulkarm. He held the position of the former Jordanian Minister of Agriculture, and he is a former member of the Jordanian Senate.

 

His upbringing and education

Marwan Rasim Kamal Ismail grew up in the city of Tulkarm in the West Bank. He received his primary, preparatory and secondary education in the city’s schools, and finished high school in the city’s well-established Fadhiliya School. Although Marwan Kamal grew up throughout his life in the city of Tulkarm, the place of his birth was the town of Anabta, adjacent to the city, as his family had moved to permanent residence in the city of Tulkarm when he was an infant at the age of forty days.

 

Marwan Kamal studied at the American University in Beirut for two years, then worked as a secondary school teacher in Bahrain for a year, after which he returned to Tulkarm, then left for the United States of America, where he obtained a bachelor's degree in chemistry from Roosevelt University in 1955, and a master's degree in chemistry. in chemistry from the University of Pittsburgh in 1961, and a master's degree in business administration from the University of Minnesota in 1969.

His father is Rasem Kamal, who was a member of the municipal councils of Tulkarm from 1959 until April 26, 1974. Marwan Kamal married in 1963 and has two sons and two daughters.
