Information
Sheikh Ahmad was born in Nablus and was drafted into the army. He served as an imam for soldiers in Yemen and was taken prisoner after fighting on the Russian front. He returned to Nablus and became the director of the Khan School. He was appointed guardian to implement the will of Haj Saleh Khraim, who bequeathed a third of his estate to charitable projects. During his captivity in Russia, the Sheikh had seen hospitals and resolved to build one. He purchased a vineyard on the northern slope of the mountain in Nablus and built two rooms in the center and two more next to the entrance. These rooms formed the foundation of the National Hospital, which has undergone several renovations and continues to provide services to citizens in the Nablus Governorate and the northern governorates.
