Information

Akef Mohammed Abdel Jalil Al-Masri was born in Beit Hanoun, North Gaza Governorate, on July 20, 1972. He is married and has three children. He completed his primary education at Beit Hanoun Boys' School and his secondary education at Beit Hanoun High School. He received a diploma in media from Al-Quds Open University in Gaza City in 2005.
Al-Masri joined the Democratic Front in 1987, and was its official in the North Gaza Governorate in 1991. He participated in the founding of the Democratic Union Party “FIDA” in 1991, and became the General Commissioner of the Supreme Council for Tribal Affairs since 2016, and the rapporteur of the Popular Conference to End the Division between (2016-2018), and a member of the Supreme National Authority for the Great March of Return and Breaking the Siege in 2018. He announced his departure from party work in 2016, and stressed that he works to serve the Palestinian community, and to consolidate the principle of national unity and social cohesion, and that he is at an equal distance from all Palestinian factions, and that he has relations with members of Arab parliaments, and heads of Arab popular institutions and unions.
The Egyptian believes that the Oslo Accords weakened the Palestinian national project, divided the people, and made a historic concession of legitimate Palestinian rights. It failed to achieve any of the Palestinian rights or aspirations, and the occupation even disavowed this agreement despite its injustice and oppression of the Palestinian people.
He believes that the Palestinian division has added a new catastrophe to the catastrophes of the Palestinian people, and he calls for ending it and restoring unity. He points out that as long as there is occupation, it is natural for there to be resistance in all its forms to restore the stolen rights of the Palestinians. He calls for national partnership based on agreement on a national struggle strategy, and moving to a new national stage whose title is national unity and resistance. He believes that the Palestinian right is as clear as the sun, but it needs the unity of the Palestinian people, and for the Palestinian cause to remain in its Arab and Islamic depth. Even if the balance of power is skewed these days, the day will come when the Palestinian will seize his legitimate right. He believes that it is possible to accept an interim solution based on the establishment of a Palestinian state on the 1967 borders with Jerusalem as its capital, which would establish a strong Palestinian entity that demands the restoration of all the historical rights of the Palestinian people. As for the return of the refugees, it is a sacred right that does not expire with time, and the Palestinian must return to the homes from which he was displaced.
The Egyptian suffered under the occupation; he was arrested for six months in 1990, and his house was demolished in 2003 and 2014.
