Shadi Swailha is an academic currently serving as the Director of the Industrial and Mechanical Engineering Department at An-Najah National University.
Education
Shadi earned a Ph.D. in Materials Engineering from University of Salento in Italy between 2017 and 2020. His thesis was titled "Using Carbon Nanostructures in Photonic Phenomena and Chemical Sensors," with a focus on Nanotechnology.
He also holds a Master's degree in Materials Engineering from University of Lecce (Salento) in Italy, from 2000 to 2001. His thesis was titled "Processing and Properties of Thermoplastic Sheet Composites," with a focus on Polymeric Materials Technology.
He obtained a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from Mutah University in Jordan between 1993 and 1998, with his thesis titled "Production of Carbon from Olive Pit Waste."
Professional Experience
Shadi began his professional career as a Laboratory Engineer at An-Najah National University in Palestine from September 3, 1998, to January 24, 2000.
He then worked as a Lecturer at An-Najah National University from February 3, 2001, to May 17, 2017.
Shadi also served as Managing Director (Seconded) at Palestine Plastic Industries Company from August 1, 2012, to July 31, 2014.
At An-Najah National University, he has been an Assistant Professor since December 11, 2020, and continues in this position.
He served as the Coordinator of the Chemical Engineering Program at An-Najah National University from August 15, 2022, to August 15, 2023.
Currently, he holds the position of Director of the Industrial and Mechanical Engineering Department at An-Najah National University since August 15, 2023, and continues in this role.
