Omar Barghouti is a prominent Palestinian human rights defender known for his role as a co-founder of the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement, which advocates for Palestinian rights through nonviolent means. Born in Qatar and raised in Egypt, Barghouti holds bachelor's and master's degrees in Electrical Engineering from Columbia University in New York.
