Jack Khazmo was born in 1951 AD in Al Sharaf neighborhood in Jerusalem. He was educated at the Martin Luther Preparatory School in Jerusalem, obtained a diploma at Birzeit College in 1971 AD, and a bachelor’s degree in chemistry at the American University in 1973 AD.
Khazmo founded Al-Bayader Literary magazine, which contributed to the establishment of the Palestinian Writers Union. The magazine was considered one of the most important literary and political fields in Jerusalem at the time. Khazmo was a fighter and defender of the Palestinian press, to confront the military measures taken by the Israeli occupation, and Khazmo triumphed over military censorship in the courts.
Khazmo founded Al-Bayader Al-Siyasi magazine, which was one of the first political magazines published in Jerusalem after the Israeli occupation in 1967 AD. It is the first weekly magazine. Khuzmu played an important role in maintaining balance and distinguished relations between the various churches of Palestine due to his strong interest in Christian unity. Jack died in 2020 after a struggle with illness.
