1936, Ghawair Abu Shushi, Tiberia; former PFLP leader. Early ANM activist in Damascus, taking major role in local branch after 1961 break-up of UAR. Served as an independent member of PLO-EC in 1971-Jan 1973. PFLP politburo member until Feb.1993, when he refused to stand for re-election having been strongly criticized for compromises with the PLO. Chair of PNC Returnees Committee, thus with place on PLO-CC.
