She was born in the city of Nablus and completed her secondary education at Al-Aishiya School. She was unable to complete her studies, as she got married and was appointed as a teacher for girls at Al-Far’a Elementary School and then at Balata Girls Elementary School, where she remained until 1993, when she resigned and devoted herself to social work after spending half her life raising generations.
She was elected as a member of the administrative body of the Union of Women’s Association in Nablus in 1987, a few days before the start of the First Intifada. She served as deputy secretary and then secretary in the elections that followed in 1992.
Mrs. Jawda is a mother of seven children, most of whom are married, and she has 24 grandchildren. Her father had a great influence on her, as he insisted that she obtain a high school diploma and encouraged her to teach. Her husband’s support also had a great impact on her continuing on the path she chose to teach girls and do social work. Her aunt’s wife played the biggest role in taking care of the children, which allowed her the opportunity to engage in social activities and devote herself to educational work.
During her tenure on the board of directors and as secretary of the Women's Union Association, Ms. Jawdeh and her colleagues actively worked to improve the Women's Union Hospital. Several new departments were added, and existing ones were upgraded. During this period, a textile factory and a nursing college were also established. Ms. Jawdeh is also a member of the Modern Woman Association, the Mother's Care and Guidance Association, the Social and Cultural Charitable Association, the Solidarity Association, the Red Crescent Society, the Nablus Social Work Association, and the Friends of the Patient Charitable Association.
