A group of applied biology students (Haya Al-Fakhoury, Arjwan Al-Junaidi, Hana Al-Muhtaseb) published a peer-reviewed scientific research entitled Isolation and characterization of a Bacteriophage that hosts on Avian-pathogenic Escherichia coli (APEC).

This is in the peer-reviewed scientific journal International Journal of Poultry Science, which is indexed in SCOUPS.

During this research, viruses capable of ingesting and killing pathogenic bacteria in poultry were isolated and identified.

  It should be noted that this research is a graduation project for students and is supervised by Mr. Murad Ashniur and Dr. Fawzi Al-Razem. It won the Engineer Zuhair Hijjawi Award as the best research in the Medical Sciences category at the level of Palestinian universities. It also won second place for the Student Creativity Conference Award organized by Polytechnic University. Palestine.
