Adnan Ghaleb Jawad Al-Husseini (born in 1947 in Jerusalem) is a Palestinian engineer and politician who held several important positions in the city of Jerusalem . He was Governor of Jerusalem Governorate in the period 2008-2018, and also Minister of Jerusalem Affairs in the period 2012-2019. He previously worked as director of the Jerusalem Endowments and advisor to the Palestinian President on Jerusalem affairs. [1]

1965 High School Certificate (Tawjihi) from the Ibrahimi College in Jerusalem .
1970 He obtained a bachelor’s degree in architecture from Ain Shams University in Cairo .
1977 He participated in a training course in the field of preserving ancient and archaeological buildings and how to restore them from the ICROM Institute in Rome , Italy.
Working life [ edit ]
(February 1971-October 1984) - Supervising engineer of Islamic Endowment projects in Jerusalem and the West Bank, including supervising the restoration process of Al-Aqsa Mosque after the attack and fire that the mosque suffered on August 21, 1969.
(October 1984-April 1989) - General Director of Construction and Maintenance of Properties of the General Islamic Endowments Department in Jerusalem.
(April 1989 - February 2007) - Director General of the Islamic Endowments Department in Jerusalem.
(September 2007 - September 2008) - Advisor to President Mahmoud Abbas for Jerusalem Affairs. [2]
(September 2008 - 2018) - Governor of Al-Quds Al-Sharif.
