Information

Omar Daoud Al-Tahla was born in the occupied city of Ramla in March 1940. He is married and has four sons and four daughters. He studied the basic stage in Ramla schools until the Nakba in 1948. He worked as an employee in the Jordanian Jamco Company between (1960-1973), then in the Khair Al-Din Al-Maani Company in Ivory Coast in 1974, then in the Al-Kahimi Company in Saudi Arabia between (1975-1979), then he founded the Al-Tahla and Abu Adas Company in Jordan and worked in it between (1980-2010), then he moved into the field of real estate sales and rentals.
Al-Tahla joined the Nationalist Movement at the hands of Subhi al-Tamimi in 1960, and participated in the establishment of the military apparatus of the Arab Nationalist Movement in 1965, which was later known as the Youth of Revenge. He completed a military course at the Anshas camp in Alexandria under the supervision of Egyptian intelligence, and worked with his comrades to prepare the resistance guerrilla work in Jordan after the setback of June 1967. He was one of the founders of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, and worked within the security apparatus of the Front known as the Salah al-Din Mobile Forces, which was based in Jabal al-Ashrafiya. He was involved in training members of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine in Jordan, and participated in the Front’s famous operations on the Jordanian scene, including the hijacking of planes between (1968-1970). He was among the security team responsible for protecting the headquarters of the magazine Al-Hadaf, which belonged to the Popular Front, in Beirut. Then his connection with the Front was severed since 1971.
He participated in efforts to break the siege on Gaza, as he joined the Ansar 1 and Ansar 2 convoys, as part of the Lifeline campaign, which aimed to break the siege on the Gaza Strip between (2010-2012).
Al-Tahla believes in armed resistance as a way to liberate Palestine, and sees that organized armed action is more effective than popular resistance action. He believes that Palestine is the entire Palestinian land from the river to the sea, and that any solution to the Palestinian issue must be through the return of all Palestinian refugees to their homes. He calls for national unity to be built on the basis of the unity of all the forces of the Palestinian people on the option of resisting the occupation. He considers the settlement path that the PLO agreed to as a concession of the Palestinian right to the entire Palestinian land and to the return of refugees to their homes. He believes that the PLO has deviated from the goal for which it was founded, and work must be done to find an alternative to it.
Al-Tahla suffered in his life; he was arrested by the Jordanian intelligence several times between (1965-1966), was shot during the events of September 1970, and was arrested by the Jordanian intelligence again for 140 days in 1971.
He died in Jordan on December 2, 2021.
