Sheikh Munib Mahmoud Mustafa Hashim was the Mufti of Nablus in the late 19th century. The scholar Munib was born in the Palestinian city of Nablus in 1854 CE, into a family known for its dedication to scholarship and its religious standing in Nablus and Palestine. They were descendants of the Prophet Muhammad, tracing their lineage back to the companion of the Prophet, Ja'far ibn Abi Talib . Sheikh Munib studied under the renowned scholar Sheikh Abdullah ibn Sufan al-Qaddumi al-Nabulsi al-Hanbali .
