Hussam al-Din Musa Afana, a Palestinian jurist, mufti, reformer, and writer, a professor of jurisprudence and fundamentals at Al-Quds University, the owner of the They Ask You Jurisprudence series, and the general supervisor of the They Ask You Network, was born in the town of Abu Dis, the eastern gate of the occupied city of Jerusalem, on Dhu al-Hijjah 16, 1374 AH, corresponding to August 5, 1955 AD. He has dozens of books and jurisprudential literature.

In 1978, he obtained a Bachelor's degree in Islamic Sharia, with a very good grade with honors, from the Faculty of Sharia at the Islamic University - Madinah. Then, in 1982, he obtained a Master’s degree in Jurisprudence and Usul, with a very good grade, from the College of Sharia at Umm Al-Qura University.
