Suad Qurman (b. 1927), a Palestinian poet and writer, lives in the village of Ibten, Haifa District. She completed her high school studies in the Sisters of Nazareth, obtained a BA in English and the subject of education from Ornim College, worked in the field of journalism as an editor for the women’s corner in the newspaper “Al-Youm” and on television, and worked as a teacher of English, Arabic and Islamic religion at Abtan Primary School until In the early nineties, where she submitted her resignation from the teaching corps. She is one of the founders of the Palestinian Writers Association in 1980. She was elected as the head of the administrative board of Al-Midan Theater for a period of five years. She writes poetry and prose, her poems range from vertical to operative, and her writings have been published in many literary and cultural newspapers and magazines.

The writer Souad Abdel Raouf Qurman was born in Haifa in 1927. She is the sister of Abdel Rahim Qurman, better known as "Abed Qurman". In 1937, she traveled with her mother and brothers to Beirut, while her father remained in Haifa, to engage in education at Miss Amina Al-Maqdisi Primary School. A year later, the mother decided to return her children to Haifa. So Souad joined the Carmelite Sisters School of Haifa and learned the Italian language. Then, in 1940, she joined a school in Gaza City and was educated by the Arabic language teacher Miss Issam Al-Husseini, the first impulse that led to her attachment to Arabic poetry and she memorized many ancient Arabic poetry and commentaries. Then she returned again to Haifa, where she received her secondary education at the Sisters of Nazareth School. She got married at the age of sixteen and began educating herself through reading, and with the advent of the Nakba (1948) she stayed with her family in the city of Haifa, and worked as a teacher at Ibten Primary School, then continued her studies and obtained a BA in English from Oranim Teacher Education College in 1981. In 1990, she resigned from her education and restricted her activities to poetry, culture and theater.
