Abd al-Latif al-Taybawi was born in al-Taybeh in 1910. He studied at the Tulkarm Emiri School, then at the Teachers’ House in Jerusalem. In 1925, during his studies, he won a prize for a competition prepared by (Al-Hilal) magazine for the best article. He joined the American University in Beirut and obtained a BA in History and Arabic Literature in 1929, with which he won the Monard Prize. He was appointed as a history professor at Al-Ramla High School, then promoted as a private secretary to the Director of General Knowledge, then as an assistant inspector in Jerusalem. He obtained a PhD in Philosophy from the University of London. He published multi-topic articles in his specialty, and the University of London awarded him a full-time (research professor) degree to study the British cultural and religious monuments in Palestine. Harvard University in the United States invited him to produce a book about its cultural and religious interests in Syria. The University of London awarded him a Doctor of Arts degree as a reward for his scientific works. - Published dozens of articles and reviews in history, literature and education, and wrote books that were characterized by depth and comprehensiveness in language. He taught at the University of London and Harvard University.
