Born in Gaza 1914, moved with his family to Beersheba then to Hebron, joined Dar Al-Mua'lmen Alarab in Jerusalem, appointed as a teacher in Al-Rashidyah College in Jerusalem 1931, worked in Lebanon and Iraq (1948-1953); lecturer at the American University. While he was working, he obtained his BA in literature, MA and PhD (1966).
