Born in Tiberias 1932, finished his primary and preparatory education in his home country, then he emigrated with his family to Syria in 1948 (Nakba); where he studied Arabic language Literature from Damascus University 1954; Diploma in Education 1955, studied English language Literature from the same university 1959; he hen moved to England where he obtained his PhD in Literature from University of Cambridge 1969; worked as a lecturer at the University of Cambridge 1967-1969; member of the Arab Writers Union in Syria; member of the Palestinian Writers Union.
