Tawfiq Isa Sordawi was a Palestinian poet, who was born in the village of Surda, near Ramallah in 1934, received his secondary education in Ramallah. He worked as a tutor, then, he enrolled in the Arab Socialist Ba'ath Party in the middle of the 1950s. Tawfiq left Jordan to Damascus where he resided, he then moved to Beirut and worked in the daily newspaper "Al-Safeer" until his death in 1988, a founding member of the Free Pen Association in Jordan.
