Biography

He was born in the Ain al-Hilweh refugee camp in southern Lebanon in 1958 to Palestinian parents who had fled to Lebanon during the 1948 Nakba, which resulted in the Palestinian people losing their homeland. From a young age in the camp, he was deeply affected by the hardships endured by refugees. This influence is evident in much of his literary work and journalistic writing. He dedicated himself to the struggle for his people's freedom, working as a political activist. He writes poetry, short stories, and novels, in addition to journalism, having worked for several Palestinian and Arab media outlets in Beirut and Damascus before emigrating to Sweden in 1990. In Sweden, he founded the publishing house "Alwan Arabiya Publications," which has published the online newspaper "Alwan Arabiya" since 2009. He joined the Swedish Writers' Union in 2011 and has been a member of the Union of Palestinian Writers and Journalists since 1984.
